The Sustainable Urban Design Framework is a comprehensive approach to addressing sustainability issues that helps simplify a complex field.  It brings together topics from architecture, planning, landscape, development, ecology, and many other fields, and organizes them by outcome goals and design scales.

Nico Larco is a Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Oregon and Director of Urbanism Next, where he explores how emerging technologies—from new mobility and autonomous vehicles to e-commerce and the sharing economy—are transforming cities. He advises municipalities on future-proofing, developed the Sustainable Urban Design Framework, and his work has been featured in Wired, The New York Times, Forbes, Financial Times, and Newsweek.

Nico Larco is also a Principal at Larco/Knudson and a Strategic Advisor at TNO. Currently he’s a guest visiting professor at the Section of Urban Design.
