We are pleased to share that GreenCare4Health has been awarded funding under the NWO–FAPESP Merian Fund call “Extreme Heat and Water Events”.
This five-year Brazilian–Dutch research project (€1.35M), led by TU Delft and the University of São Paulo, investigates how community-led green spaces can mitigate the health impacts of extreme heat in vulnerable urban neighbourhoods.
By transforming schoolyards into green commons, the project combines urban design, public health, and governance innovation, with living labs in the Netherlands and a pilot implementation in São Paulo.
GreenCare4Health is one of five international projects funded by NWO and FAPESP to address climate-related health challenges in cities worldwide.
